City Services that Serve You

As your Ward 4 councillor, I will ensure residents receive high-quality municipal services for their tax dollars. During this campaign, I have already helped neighbours navigate the confusing processes at City Hall to resolve local property issues. On Council, I will help you access timely city services and will escalate recurring neighbourhood problems until they are resolved.

Growing Better while Growing Bigger

London, and Ward 4, need sustainable growth that matches existing neighbourhoods and utilizes current infrastructure without destroying green spaces. I will champion a new City Hall service: Development Navigator for Neighbours. While City Hall actively guides developers through complex applications, residents lack support. This service will break down confusing planning jargon, empowering neighbours to have a direct, timely voice in local developments.

Working Towards Housing for All

To tackle homelessness and affordable housing shortages, I will focus on three pillars:

  1. PREVENTION: Stopping homelessness before it starts by supporting a Tenant Assistance and Relocation Program.

  2. ADVOCACY: Lobbying the province to deliver sustained funding for evidence-based supportive housing.

  3. SUPPORT: Partnering with local agencies to build dedicated supportive housing spaces.

Filling London’s Empty Buildings

It is time to eliminate free rides for vacant properties. City Council previously rejected a vacant residential tax. I will support a cost-efficient framework based on successful models in other Canadian cities that target buildings remaining vacant for a significant period of time. London also needs the power to tax vacant commercial properties and I will be Ward 4’s champion for this at Queen's Park. 

Flood Prevention and Protecting Green Space

Flooding is one of the biggest and most costly risks for Ward 4 and for London. I will work with Council to prioritize urgent flood protections within our future plans to protect people and property. This effort will include completing major infrastructure projects, reducing basement flooding by improving the wastewater system in London, and safeguarding natural flood barriers like wetlands and forests. Protecting natural spaces will mitigate flood risks, clean our air and water, and preserve green spaces for everyone.
