My belief in and commitment to community is why I’m in this race. Building community takes time, patience, persistence, and work. When I decided to run for council, I wanted to run a campaign that demonstrated who I was and how I would undertake the role.
That’s why we’ve been out canvassing 6 days a week since May: to show that I’m here for the work. I'll be working with you as you navigate City Hall to solve problems on your streets, and in your neighborhoods. And I'll be working for you with my fellow councillors and city staff as we build a city that is safer, more liveable, more affordable, and more vibrant.
Municipal government is the level of government that arguably has the most direct impact on people’s day-to-day lives. It can do so much not only to help business flourish, but to support the everyday community heroes out there organizing block parties, cooking community meals, picking up garbage, coaching kids, conducting choirs, checking in with neighbors, sitting on organizing committees and boards, and fundraising for worthy causes.
We all have a part to play in building strong and healthy communities. And this is mine: Working with you. Working for you.
